HIghline Times writes about 3rd RW noise

Here's a link to an article in the Highline Times about community reaction to the unexpected new noise from Sea-Tac's third runway.

You can comment on this at the Times' website. We'd love to see your comments, as well.

  1. Dear Seattle Port Commission President, John Creighton,

I see that today's meeting of the Highline Forum has been canceled for obvious reasons. I'm glad, because I think this will give folks more time to prepare for the meeting as well as protect their safety. However, I am very disappointed that there is apparently is no public speaking component planned.

I feel that it is very important the public be accommodated and allowed to speak in open public session of the Highline Forum. It is because of broad public outcry that this meeting is taking place at all. The voices of the public need to be heard on this important issue, now.

I know that the Port wants to present its side of the issue to the public at this meeting but it makes no sense not to allow the public the same benefit.

Since the meeting has been delayed to a time when the weather hopefully will be better, it is clear that an opportunity exists in which all measures can now be taken to accommodate the public. I'm certain that vigorous public testimony will provide invaluable input to the commission and Highline Forum.

I would greatly appreciate your assistance in convincing Port staff and other interested parties in expressing the importance of including the public voice on such an important issue.

I of course, will be working to make sure the Public voice is well presented at the next meeting and I know I can count on your support.

    Thanks again

    Chris Cain
